Flanking
The reason i have created this thread is because to many people attack enemy bases head on.
FLANKING Flanking is a great manouvere for attacking a enemy base because there are less enemy situated at the flanks so you have a easy route to your target. But make sure that you attack the flank least likely to be enemy occupied. Cheers Marine |

But head on is also useful since it enables someone else to flank.

Yeah and more often that not the enemy will try to out flank your flanking manouver... So sometimes rather than running around in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of meters away from the flags just walk straight into the flag area...

Depends how far you flank. If you flank too far it's a waste of human resources for your team. Especially if you spend tons of time getting there and then just die anyways. But certainly, there are lots of times to flank in PR.

I think that is more like a special ops mission when you are circling the edges of the map to come up behind the flag and it takes you 10 minutes. But when more than one squad is attacking a flag, one of those squads should move to attack the left or right side of the main attack. That to me is flanking the enemy. | |

What most people dont realize about flanking is the bad things about it. If you aren't meeting a lot of resistance, just stay with the main attack but if you are outnumbered puff smoke and work your way around. If there is pre-existing cover one good tactic is to throw the smoke lets say to the left but then work your way to the right which can leave their right flank exposed and allow for an easier victory, but also, at the same time, any time you flank you weaken another part of your force to strengthen another part. So the trick is stealth, you want to flank but you don't want them to see it because they can take advantage of it.
