Browsers not working

I've got a really weird problem. I'm connected to the internet and chatting on msn, but when i try to go to a page in Firefox or IE, it tells me the page can't be displayed, like i'm not connected to the internet. Right now i'm posting this from the little internet window that pops up when you click on a song in someone's PM on MSN, i just searched to get here. Anyone know what it might be? because i'd like to have my browsers back.
