Battlefield 2 Problem
So, I have been playing Project Reality for a long time. All of a sudden, my Desura account won't let me upload Project Reality. I tried uninstalling everything (had to uninstall Desura because I had problems with this). I tried uninstalling Battlefield 2 and it won't let me. I tried installing Battlefield 2 and it won't let me. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Re: Battlefield 2 Problem
So apparently my Battlefield 2 is installed. Every time I try to load it, my screen will turn black and then go back to the desktop.
Really miss PR. Any help? |

Re: Battlefield 2 Problem
It didn't work.
It worked fine before and then all of a sudden it didn't in Desura. Initially when PR wouldn't load in Desura, I was told I must run BF2 first in order to run PR. I tried running BF2 and it all of a sudden started saying it was uninstalling uncommon mod I believe. Then I decided to uninstall everything. I couldn't really uninstall BF2. It gave me an error message. I put in the DVD and tried uninstalling from there. Then all of a sudden it said it was going to install BF2. Could this be from Windows 7? I read some issues online with Windows 7 and Windows 8. I am lost. I really love PR. I feel like I won't be able to play it again... |

Re: Battlefield 2 Problem
OK, let's get some more info from you.
1. what version of BF2 do you own? A retail DVD, a Steam copy, an Origin copy, etc? 2. I think you have the DVD version, do you still have the DVDs and your CDKey? 3. Are you comfortable redownloading the PR 1.2.0 ISO file through a bittorrent client, skipping Desura altogether? At this point, you'll want to provide me with the exact error message you get when regular BF2 crashes when you start it. With that info I can tell you if it's fixable or if you need to completely unisntall and reinstall BF2. |

Re: Battlefield 2 Problem
I reinstalled BF2 with DVD. I updated to 1.41 then 1.5. I downloaded PR again in Desura. I tried to run PR, it then tells me to run BF2 first. I try to run BF2 in Desura and it says it is uninstalling complex mod (which I assume to be PR).
I think this is something you might want to bring up with Desura. |

Re: Battlefield 2 Problem
Desura really buggy I've played other BF-2 mods on
Desura and at times it won't play other BF-2 Mods/P.O.E/ etc. Since Gamespy has left seems all the BF-2 Desura mods don't work all together. I sent them an email about it like 2 months ago and haven't heard anything back. May reinstall Desura or Install PR from scratch from version prior PR-Vers-1.2 then when in PR update it will update to Vers-1.2-but it will take awhile maybe 20-30-mins. |
