PRTA Custom Map Event - Sahel Vietnam - 18:00 PRT, Saturday 26th October
NVA taking over Sahel! __________________ PRTA Presents: Custom Map Event - Sahel Vietnam | 18:00 PRT, Saturday 26th October Server: PRTA Sahel Vietnam Map: Sahel Vietnam Time/Date: 18:00 PRT Saturday 26th October 2019 Server Password: tba It's the summer of 1972, and the Easter Offensive in Vietnam is in full force. NVA regulars are attacking South Vietnamese and US positions from the west with armored assaults and human wave attacks. The NVA have so far overrun every South Vietnamese outpost and base that stood in their way. Now they are advancing to Sahel airfield, which up to this point served the US Army as a helicopter refuelling and rearming station, aswell as a forward operating base. Now, it serves as the US Army's first line of defence of Sunset City. The soldiers have dug in at various defensive positions around the airfield and have been waiting and preparing all night for NVA troops to begin the attack. NVA objective The NVA will attempt to overrun all the US positions in order to take control of the airfield, which itself isn't a tennable position without the surrounding defensive points. The NVA have brought into the assault a closed-turret ZSU-57-2 self propelled anti-aircraft gun in order to combat the recent successes of recon helicopters, aswell as a fleet of PT-76 tanks to support the assaulting infantry. Their means of resupply are trucks and cars carrying supplies and personnel. US Army objective The objective for the US Army is simple – hold at all costs. Since they know about the deployment of anti-air vehicles in this area, they have very limited access to helicopter transport and logistics. The only air assets they have are one UH-1D Medevac Huey (no crates), and two OH-6 Light Observation Helicopters. All reinforcements and supplies must be transported by ground vehicles – jeeps, trucks and M548 tracked logistics carriers. Each defensive position has a cache of ammunition aswell for the defending troops. There are five defensive positions that they need to hold. If those positions are taken by the NVA and the caches are destroyed by NVA sappers, the US Army loses the battle. Map download and setup instructions
