Default Are There Mine Limits?

Do mines have a limit to how many you can place, and/or how long they last?

I only ask because after laying several I thought people had driven over them and nothing went off on some.

Since they go invisible after you lay them, its hard to tell unless you see someone drive over them, or you do it yourself.

I do like that they now lay their own mine marker on the map and you are not limited to marking just a few.

I thought that the invisible mines glitch had been dealt with in one of the patches this month (???)

My experience has been that the invisible mines still kill people/vehicles. But there is no visual effect or sound effect, you just suddenly get a DEAD screen.

Mines don't go invisible after you lay them... Never did. Are you placing them in DOD?

I'm sure I've placed 25 mines once on Bamyan recently

Around the time of v1.6.4, I began to see my mines disappear within seconds after laying them on the ground (yes, kilometers away DoD). The invisible mines DO kill infantry and vehicles, but there are no particle effects or SFX. The victim just immediately goes to a dead-dead screen.

And usually, this is accompanied by a first person animation bug where, upon scrolling to the mine, the player immediately drops a mine on the ground, and the mine-laying SFX plays. A moment later, the mine disappears from the terrain, and the IED reappears in your inventory. These aren't the invisible mines I described above. It's just some kind of wierd animation glitch.

In earlier versions of PR, this never happened. I know many people in-game who have had the exact same experience. I think we players just aren't very diligent about reporting these issues to the devs.

But it has been my experience that his bug does NOT occur in v.1.6.5...

There was a bug with mines being deleted incorrectly in 1.6.4, it should be fixed in 1.6.5.

There shouldn't have been any invisible mines since 1.6.3
